1 & 2 Thessalonians: Faithful Endurance in One Direction

Starting Sunday mornings, in December.
Paul wrote 1 & 2 Thessalonians to a baby church in the city of Thessalonica. They were new believers, vulnerable believers, and they were facing persecution and confusion.
But Paul could only be with them for a short time. Given this urgency, he emphasized important fundamentals, and we’re wise to take notice of his priorities.
Paul encouraged these new believers to stay faithful despite their many hardships. He taught them the various doctrines of Jesus Christ’s return, and he provided them with practical guidance on sexual purity, daily living, and avoiding idleness.
Basically, Paul told this church, “Hang in there! Don’t lose hope. Jesus is coming back, so keep on keeping on. Choose to live a life that’s pleasing to God.”
It’s a powerful message we all need today, and it’s an encouragement to us to faithfully endure in one direction.
